Requirements We are currently seeking a kind and compassionate Companion caregiver to join our wonderful team. If you are passionate about working with seniors and providing them the greatest quality of life possible, OceanView is the place for you! The typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30 to 5:00, but part-time shifts are available. No Weekends, No Holidays, No Nights! Each Companion's scheduled hours are based on individual resident needs coupled with staff availability. Tell us what you need and we will do everything we can to make it work! The PRO Companion will provide the highest quality of companionship and assistance while promoting overall resident well-being. This position will work collaboratively with the Community Wellness Coordinator and the PRO team to ensure a positive and productive work environment as well as to support and achieve Ocean View's business goals and objectives. Being respectful of our residents, their families and friends, all visitors and fellow employees is a primary responsibility of this position. The person in this position must always be dressed in professional attire and wear an OceanView identification badge while on campus. The person in this position must possess a valid Maine driver's license in good standing and a reliable, clean automobile that is fully insured to provide residents with safe transportation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSDuties include and are not limited to the following: • Providing companionship and assistance for each resident according to the Plan of Care mutually developed by the Community Wellness Coordinator and the resident / their family; completing required visit documentation at the time of each episode of care. • Observing resident's environment and behaviors for potential / actual hazards and reporting unsafe resident situations to supervisor; with resident / family permission, revises environment to ensure safety • Participating in the orientation of new employees as directed by supervisor • Complying with all Company rules, policies, procedures and expectations including, but not limited to: attending at all required training programs and those encouraged by supervisor. Adhering to all safety policies including completion of Incident Reports within 24 hours of incident providing original to supervisor. EXPERIENCE Minimum of one year of experience caring for geriatric clients required with home care experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good command of the English language required EDUCATION High school diploma or GED is required.
