Collegiate School seeks a Piano Instructor to teach private music lessons and assist students with their recital performances. The Piano Instructor will collaborate with the performing arts faculty to support the music curriculum and music ensembles as part of an evolving performing arts program. This is a part-time position. General responsibilities include:
- Teaching Piano lessons in the Lower, Middle and Upper School
- Teaching essential skills for piano performance technique, music literacy, ear training, and music theory
- Fostering a climate of respect for each child as an individual
- Identifying and pursuing professional opportunities that enhance and extend one's teaching
- Attending all piano recitals
- Keeping a record of student lesson dates and times throughout the year
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- A Bachelor's degree in Music Education or Performance is preferred
- 5 years private teaching experience at a Middle School, High School or College level
- Strong commitment to students with all learning styles
- Ability to inspire students' love of learning and critical thinking
- Enthusiasm for academic excellence and creative teaching
- Passion for music education
