Follow @blackstone on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.Business Unit: Legal & Compliance (L&C) sitting within the Private Wealth Solutions (PWS) team and covering registered funds managed by Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI) and Blackstone Real Estate.This legal role sits within the growing PWS Legal Team and will provide exposure to the entire universe of Blackstone registered funds across multiple business units (most notably Blackstone Credit & Insurance and Blackstone Real Estate). This role will involve product structuring and launching registered funds, managing the day-to-day legal issues of the new and existing registered funds, and assisting the other lawyers within the PWS Legal Group with strategic projects.Job Description:This hire will work on a variety of interesting legal and general corporate matters. Most notably, the focus will be leading the innovative formation and supporting the ongoing management of credit and real estate registered funds.Primary job responsibilities will include:Participating in the design and launch of new registered funds, focusing on credit and real estate investment strategies.Overseeing the ongoing day-to-day management of these new and certain other existing registered funds.Assisting senior leaders with project management and fund formation matters and participating in product development of varied investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.Participating in the creation and management of registered fund board materials.Managing regulatory filings (e.g., 8-Ks, 10-Q/Ks, Form 10s, N-2s, N-CSRs, and prospectus updates) and assisting with day-to-day regulatory compliance oversight of registered funds.Assisting with the development of a marketing and fundraising plan for registered funds. Working with the in-house Legal & Compliance team and external counsel to monitor and implement legal and regulatory developments that impact the registered funds.Providing regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and business personnel, including preparation of reports for investment team and senior management.Communicating on an ongoing basis with external counsel and various other counterparties regarding legal initiatives.Supporting various business groups, including investment, marketing, accounting, operations and middle office departments.Qualifications:6+ years of experience practicing law as a law firm associate or in-house counsel, preferably focused on registered funds / investment management law. Capital markets background would also be suitable. Familiarity working on BDCs and interval funds is preferred but not required.Experience with private funds and public company filings is required.Strong time and task management.Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while raising issues in a timely and productive fashion.Possesses an interest in financial markets and legal processes with an ability to step in and work directly with stakeholders in the business.Highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, intelligent, and proven excellence in prior endeavors.Ability to be proactive in new situations and to independently manage projects to conclusion is important.Must be a strong and independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite.Team player.Strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to write effectively.Desire to work as part of a collaborative team and willingness to embrace a variety of issues and responsibilities.Private Wealth Solutions Private Wealth Solutions was established to answer the growing demand for Blackstone products from high-net worth investors.
