Job Summary and Qualifications

The registered professional nurse is responsible for the delivery of post-partum and newborn nursery patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition, the registered professional nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, supervises and evaluates patient teaching and the activities of the ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • Your primary function is to provide direct patient care to post-partum patients in a family centered approach
  • You will provide multidisciplinary obstetrical care to low and high risk postpartum patients and normal newborns
  • The RN monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge
  • You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner
  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation
  • Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation
  • Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment
  • Educate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Current Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • One year of RN experience in port partum or nursery preferred
  • One year of RN experience required
