Job DetailsJob Location Payne - Stillwater - URC - Stillwater, OK DescriptionJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible and immediately supervised by the Integrated Health Services Administrator. This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties:
  • As prescribed by the health care provider, administers oral and injectable medications; performs other nursing treatments and procedures in accordance with approved nursing techniques, Oklahoma licensing laws, and health care provider orders.
  • May assist the family and other appropriate personnel with admissions, discharges, and transfers of consumers.
  • Coordinates care for the consumers and maintains relationships with their respective Primary Providers to meet the needs of the consumer, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
  • Ensures ROI's are in place and current for PCP's and other service providers.
  • Maintain current certification in Therapeutic Options, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Works with team to ensure continuity of care is delivered.
  • Completes medication profiles and inventories.
  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to monitor consumers progress and to detect reactions to drugs, treatments, and environmental changes; evaluates status of consumers through visual examination. Provides consumers with a list of their medications, provides medication education to help facilitate compliance. Documents in consumers medical record any other pertinent information. Updates physical medications consumer is taking and document in EMR.
  • Advises, with assistance of physician, other staff members regarding medical issues and consumer medications.
  • Participates in daily shift reports to discuss consumers diagnosis, treatment plans, and DC plan.
  • Employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Maintains appropriate licensure requirements.
  • Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job requirement.
  • Must meet satisfactory expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation.
  • Quality of work will be evaluated through training, skill, or special purpose. Must be competent and adequate.
Must perform the specific job duties as listed above to meet position expectations. In addition must possess skill in working cooperatively and effectively with consumers, staff, management and other professional groups; in exercising mature judgment in dealing with people; in presenting ideas clearly and accurately; in reading and comprehending the English language; and in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing. Must be agreeable to work two (2) holiday shifts per year.If needed, must work at least one (1) shift every six (6) weeks which could include days, nights, weekdays, or weekends. QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing is required and two (2) years of supervised experience in a mental health treatment setting is preferred. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing therapy, practices, techniques, and procedures. Skill in planning and organizing nursing and supplies; in following oral and written directions; in maintaining therapeutic relationships with consumers; in maintaining effective working relationships with other nursing personnel. Good knowledge of administration and effects of commonly used medications, particularly psychotropic medication. Good knowledge of facilities, services, and practitioners in the local medical community. Skill in administering medication including giving injections.
