Southern Tennessee Regional Health System has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care team.

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Monitor and notes condition of the patient closing and keeps physicians informed.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May be required to perform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff on occasion.
Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.
Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.
Accepts all call schedule as directed.
Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
Reports to the Director of ICU.
Minimum Education
Associate's degree is required.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred
Licenses
Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee or compact license with the required forms filed with the State of Tennessee within 30 days.
