We are looking to hire a Process Controls Engineer in our Menominee, MI paper mill to develop and manage analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Consistency will be a key attribute for the right candidate as this role will assist in creating a culture of continuous process improvement, and employee development to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.   • Work with supplier support functions to ensure we have on-site spares for drive systems. (Including CTC screens, cables and specialty monitoring and sensing electronics.
  • Become the site leader for trouble shooting and repair of electronic drive systems.
  • Monitor and quantify reliability cost savings, increased production and/or equipment life cycle.
  • Troubleshooting including mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, motor controls, and PLCs; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, flow diagrams and PLC code to trouble shoot, maintain and install electrical control systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge to maintain, repair, install and test electrical motors AC and DC, generators and battery back-up systems and their associated control systems.
  • Knowledge to maintain, repair, install and test electrical switchgear, transformers, MCC's, distribution panels etc. and their associated control systems.
  • Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial automation equipment including PLC's, HMI, Variable Frequency Drives, Temperature, Flow, Pressure controls and other related devices.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Work closely with other maintenance team members to ensure the smooth running of the plant in a 24/7 continuous operation environment.
  • Use of leading and lagging performance metrics and asset failure history to identify asset performance issues.
  • Development and continuous improvement of asset strategies and tactics based on reliability principles.
  • Developing a data-based decision-making culture where improvement opportunities are identified and prioritized using data. Data is used to understand root causes and development of optimal solutions.
  • Capital Spending, Project Scope, Estimate, Funding Request, Schedule, Cost Control, Bid Packages, Requisitions, Drawings, Construction Management, Check Out, and Close Out.
  • Manage and direct a team of hourly employees.
  • Provide basic training in E&I principles.
  • Drive the successful implementation of reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Work with the Maintenance Team to drive this initiative.
Essential Skillset, Education/Qualification, Certification Attainment:
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience within paper manufacturing and setting up preventative maintenance programs
  • Strong fundamentals in application and must be able to establish programs from scratch
  • Electrical Engineer degree qualified
  • Ability to provide direction to E&I and maintenance teams.
  • Basic Microsoft office skills such as Excel
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • People orientated.
  • Problem solver and a doer
  • Paper industry preferred.
Additional InformationSignificant lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing including stairs, ladders and scaffolding; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
