Description
The Process Specialist provides technical and engineering problem solving support to plant departments as requested. This is a 3rd shift opening ( 3rd shift is from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am). + Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Determine optimum process control conditions for new and existing products.
+ Initiate process improvements to maximize safety, encourage manufacturing output and reduce costs.
+ Investigate electrical and controls problems and formulate solutions.
+ Develop Standard Operating Procedures (work instructions) for processes and equipment.
+ Contribute to the development and implementation of interdepartmental programs.
+ Assist in the implementation of process improvement and cost reduction programs focus on control aspects of equipment and processes.
+ Coordinate activities of contractors and vendors.
+ Visit customers, suppliers and vendors as needed for quality defect analysis and solution implementation.
+ Perform capacity studies on all plant processes.
+ Research best equipment for application along with costs.
+ Perform programming changes to PLC and control networks as required.
+ Understand all aspects of TPS and use this knowledge to train other team members.
Qualifications:
+ Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems as well as Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting and programming.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical and PLC drawings.
+ Associate degree from two-year college or technical school; and two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure and equipment manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.
+ Knowledge of Office applications such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
+ May be required to have/obtain licenses to operate powered industrial trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or other types of equipment used to facilitate equipment repairs and accessibility.

The sixth UGN facility in Monroe, Ohio, officially opened in September 2015.
