You'll have the chance to tackle real world, value-added projects that support production and project engineering throughout a plant. In this role, safety and teamwork are key as you innovate and improve processes and troubleshoot problems.Ingevity's Engineering Co-op is structured around two-three rotations ranging in average length from three-six months per term. Each Co-op term is typically separated with an academic term in between to allow for mutual learning and application of engineering concepts both to your academic and real-world learning. Candidates who apply should be available for multiple terms and should consult with their academic advisor on their availability and ability to participate in such a program.Ingevity's co-ops are on-site full-time positions and participants should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8AM-5PM. Specific norms around working hours may vary based on occasional project assignments and will be communicated by your manager.Ingevity is hiring co-ops for all seasons (Winter/Spring, Summer and Fall) in 2025 and may have positions open in any/all of the following locations. This includes:* Charleston, South Carolina* Waynesboro, Georgia* Covington, VirginiaYou will have the opportunity to provide your preferences for season and location in your application will be subject to availability and business need.Anticipated start dates for Ingevity's co-ops are within the following periods:* Winter/Spring 2025: January/February* Summer 2025: May/June* Fall 2025: August/SeptemberWhat will you gain in the Engineering Co-op Program?* Hands on engineering experience in the chemical and materials manufacturing industry with focuses in process/project and production engineering.* Experience solving complex technical challenges with a diverse team* Developmental and mentorship opportunities with technical and industry experts* Develop invaluable project leadership skills* Network with industry leaders throughout the organization* Learn about diverse and exciting career opportunities across Ingevity's lines of business* Housing assistance is available for eligible candidates who would be relocating more than 50 miles from their primary residenceWhat you need to succeed:* Students currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree granting program with a major in Engineering with an expected graduation date from May 2026 to May 2027 (or academic sophomore or junior).* Students should have completed at least one semester/quarter/trimester of engineering coursework related to their major before starting as a co-op and at least one semester/quarter/trimester of study left in their academic coursework following the co-op.* Students available to complete at least two co-op terms with one semester of study in between (i.e. co-op in Summer, go back to school in Fall and return to co-op in Spring)* Remain in good academic standing in your program of study throughout the co-op experienceThis role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
