Title: Process Engineer III Location: Durham, NC, will be required to travel to Hickory, NC plant as needed. Duration: 8 Months

Description: BA is a minimum requirement. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment. Top skills: - Hands-on manufacturing experience - Superior analytical skills - Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills Education: BS in chemical, mechanical, materials, electrical, statistics, industrial engineering. Minimum Experience: 5 Years Scope of Position: A senior process engineer responsible for providing hands-on support for the installation, start-up, and debugging of high-speed cable manufacturing process equipment. This includes collaborating with a diverse team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) Focus on process control/process discipline (PC/PD), variability reduction, defect reduction, capacity improvements and 6-Sigma (DMAIC) based problem-solving. Requirements: Experience with high-speed cable manufacturing equipment is a plus (jacketing, ribbon stranding, buffering) Effective technical leadership, organization, and planning skills, with the ability to handle changing priorities. Creative/innovative problem-solving. Proven track record of utilizing process excellence (PEX, 6-Sigma) tools and SPC to monitor and improve process performance. Experience in successfully completing projects in a manufacturing environment. Excellent Analytical Skills - Decision-making based on data. Must be a self-starter, able to work in a team environment and motivate others. Strong data analysis, interpretation, visualization, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in using software packages such as JMP, Minitab and Power-BI to analyze and display data. Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Ability to collaborate and work with diverse teams (skills, gender, culture, race, etc.) Capable of multitasking Ability to work with minimal direction. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Familiarity with other engineering disciplines (electrical, controls, mechanical, measurement, etc.) Skills and experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DoE) methods. Demonstrated technical expertise in process improvement, measurement, characterization, and materials processing. Key Responsibilities: Leads (either directly or through influence) manufacturing process improvements, variability reduction, defect reduction, process control, throughput improvements and 6-Sigma initiatives. Leads and supports problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and resolution. Applies knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges. Coaches and mentors, other junior level engineers to develop and hone skills. Demonstrates personal use of engineering tools and methodologies such as 6-Sigma, TRIZ, KT-PA, MEE, etc. to understand and address root causes of production issues, sets the example for the team on how these tools should be applied. Conducts experimentation to expand process understanding and support technology deployment. Lead and/or support in the development of standard work documentation to include SOPs, SOS, Job Aids and Training Documentation. Gives presentations to leadership to provide updates on active workstreams. Ensures safe work practices. Travel Requirements: Minimal travel (less than 10%) Position will be based in NC. Travel to a supplier or vendor may be required for equipment check-out before shipment. Work Schedule: Typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support the installation schedule.
