Job Description:
Nature of Work: Reporting to the Director of Product Development & Quality the Process Engineer will design and oversee the development of new products and implementation of new manufacturing processes. This position will work closely with the Production andSales/Marketing teams to develop new products and processes that will grow the business. The Process Engineer will be responsible for launching new products and processes that achieve cost, quality and delivery targets.Examples of Work:
  • Maintains active awareness of new applicable technological developments in the field
  • Analyzes current products and processes and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilizes Magnum Tollgate process to lead the design and launch of new products and processes.
  • Develops performance specifications for new products and processes.
  • Performs project justification, including savings and benefit analysis and return on investment.
  • Performs product testing and process capability analysis.
  • Creates samples of new products for customers.
  • Implements mistake-proofing concepts into process designs to prevent defects.
  • Develops standard work and best practice for all aspects of position.
  • Participates in and leads continuous improvement events.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience troubleshooting and improving processes in a converting environment.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Creativity.
  • CAD skills (AutoCAD, Solid Edge)
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting equipment
  • Able to read technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC/controls & wiring/electrical
  • Analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience troubleshooting and improving adhesive coating processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Training: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Three (3) years experience developing products and processes in a continuous process environment. Experience designing and troubleshooting equipment preferred.
