false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 POSITION DESCRIPTIONDIVISION/LOCATION: Fiber Cement Siding / Roaring River, NC POSITION TITLE: Process Engineer REPORTS TO TITLE: Plant Manager GENERAL FUNCTIONThe primary function of this position is to assist in the production of cost effective, high quality FiberCement siding through technological and procedural process development and implementation. The Process Engineer maintains existing plant processes, plant equipment and coordinates process improvement projects while working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Administration & SupportAssists in the review of process performance and related quality issues involving raw materials, equipment and proceduresIdentify and solve production related problems and implement changes to manufacturing processes using various troubleshooting methodologies, root cause analysis, event review and operations meetingsMonitors current processes and communicates anomalies with manufacturing process parameters. Resolve system failures, maintain system equipment and perform minor repairs on computer-related and process control equipment.Design, specify and coordinate new equipment procurement and installation as neededNew process control and procedure introduction and trainingMaintains and updates MMI (Man Machine Interfaces)Maintains PLC backup files and schedule for backupActively participates in Roaring River safety committee and subcommittees, as well as conducts plant safety auditsParticipate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performancePerform assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructionsUnderstand the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructionsKnow where EHS documents are locatedDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES -- Indicate the main duties and responsibilities of the position and estimate the percentage of your total time spent on each. MAGNITUDE -- Provide monetary figures for the areas most significantly impacted by this position. Items included may be revenues, sales, budgets, purchases, etc.PROBLEM-SOLVING -- Briefly describe the nature of decision-making or problem-solving which is a part of this position. Include the extent to which this position is governed by established practices, rules, regulations, manuals, counsel/advice, and independent thinking.Ability to persuade others to change existing practicesProven ability to identify, assess, and solve problemsMust be able to demonstrate creativity and initiative in attacking and solving problemsMust be able to prioritize multiple tasks quicklyKNOWLEDGE -- Indicate the minimum level of formal education and work experience, which is required to carry out the responsibilities of this position. When considering the experience requirement, assume that the education standard has been satisfied. Include any special knowledge, certifications or licenses, which are required.4-year BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or 5-10 years equivalent work experience5-10 years experience with paint, or in an OEM setting that uses paint in a manufacturing environment.Strong written and verbal communication skillsProficient with computer and information technologyProficient in Wonder Ware, Access, Excel, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Must be highly computer literate and have knowledge of process engineering softwareMust be able to demonstrate technical, electrical, and mechanical aptitudeShould be fluent in the application of lean manufacturing, cost reduction, statistical process control and optimization techniquesKnowledge of statistical techniques, problem solving methods, technical drawings, maintenance techniques and manufacturing techniques are requiredExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentCOMMENTS -- Briefly include any information relative to the position which would impact successful job performance (e.g. planning activities, nature of internal/external contacts, travel requirements).Highly self-motivated and self-directedMust have excellent written/verbal skills as well as analytical and problem solving skillsResponsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies Must participate in a safety committee and participate in safety activities Must work safelyPosition requires approximately 5% travelThe backup for the Process Engineer is the Maintenance Manager or Project Engineer depending on the situation requirements.
