As a member of the Advanced Development group, your work will directly contribute to all areas of the company, from production improvements to novel applications in LiFi, AR/VR, and specialty areas.Specific Responsibilities
- Drive new process development efforts across several semiconductor manufacturing platforms.
- Hands-on process development and tool optimization - significant time on the fab floor.
- SPC monitoring and implementation towards continuous improvement of laser products.
- Develop work instructions and train process technicians on new processes.
- Utilize characterization equipment such as SEM, FIB, and other systems.
- Perform data analysis on experiments.
- Specify, procure and bring up new wafer fab capital equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment while working with vacuum tools.
- Support process SOP generation.
- Support quality programs both sustaining as well as in preparation for major audits or certifications.
Experience and Skills
- BS in Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant Physical Science
- Industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing with a preference for laser diode process experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to efficiently summarize information in an effective manner
- Flexibility in schedule as some training and regular on-going responsibilities may occur or extend outside of typical working hours
- Experience with software such as JMP, Matlab, or SQL
- Experience with several of the following processes and tools: ICP, RIE, PECVD, E-beam, Sputter, ellipsometer, lithography, SEM and AFM / profilometers
- Knowledge of semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes, flow, factory, and equipment
- Experience applying problem solving and continuous improvement tools (Six Sigma, etc.)
- Able to safely handle chemicals and other hazardous materials
- Ability to work with minimal guidance
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willing to work outside the scope of normal job duties and experience
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
The full-time base salary range for the Process Engineer position is $110,000 to $130,000 per annum. The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role, based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
