Our products help to enable theelectronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMsglobally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and arecurrently seeking a Process Engineer to join our Spectra-Strip team located inHamden, CT.The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and improving fully automatedmanufacturing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost standardsof the business. The candidate is expected to collaborate with globalmanufacturing and engineering teams, be hands-on and growth-oriented with aninternal drive to improve current processes. The Process Engineer will be anagent of change in a fast paced, diverse environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Communicate effectively, spending a majority of the time hands-on with theproduction processAnalyze and perform capability studies, control charts, and otherstatistical techniquesEvaluate process data to ensure products are meeting Quality requirementsDevelop, improve, document, audit, and maintain manufacturing processes andequipmentDesign, test, and deploy tooling and automationWork closely with external suppliers and manufacturers on new equipment andprocessesPrepare equipment and systems specificationsSupport global sourcing efforts to identify and qualify suppliers of rawmaterialsCoordinate with global manufacturing sites in the transition of newtechnology and equipmentUnderstand and drive the process step cycle times, efficiencies, yieldsParticipate in DFMs, FMEAs and risk assessment activitiesWork with team to define critical product/process parametersEvaluate Safety and Occupational riskPropose and implement cost reduction activitiesQUALIFICATIONS:BS degree in Engineering discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred,advanced degree preferred3+ experience and/or training within the high-speed cabling industrypreferredAbility to effectively present information and respond to questionsAbility to solve practical and technical problems and deal with a variety ofvariables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to communicate and relay manufacturing info across continentsWorking knowledge of solid modeling tools, (Creo, Solid Works, etc.)Working knowledge of MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)Ability to learn, adopt and improve new technology within a new industryNice to haveBasic knowledge of statistical conceptsBilingual, Spanish and/or MandarinExperience in automation equipmentMechanically inclinedLean manufacturing experience or exposure to lean concepts is a plus.Amphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer.
