Work directly for a Middlesex County, CT manufacturer specializing in industrial packaging and storage solutions.Process Engineer:JOB SUMMARY: The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving stamping processes or powder coating processes while fostering a collaborative team environment. * Works by our core values:o Be eager to learn.o Deliver above and beyond.o Be a team player.o Focus on solutions.o Embrace change.* Gets it, wants it and has the capacity to do it.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Leadership & Team Management: * Supervise and provide guidance to a team of up to 15 direct reports, fostering a positive and productive work environment. * Mentor and train team members on best practices, safety protocols, and process improvements. Process Development & Optimization: * Develop and implement metal stamping processes or powder coating processes for new and existing products. * Optimize processes to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and reduce scrap rates. * Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues related to stamping machinery and processes. Tooling & Equipment: * Collaborate with toolmakers and design engineers to develop and refine stamping dies and tools. * Oversee the proper setup and maintenance of equipment. * Recommend and implement tooling and machinery upgrades to improve performance. Quality Assurance: * Ensures products meet industry standards and customer expectations. * Establish and maintain process control plans and perform regular audits for compliance. Continuous Improvement: * Drive initiatives aimed at reducing cycle times, waste, and production costs. * Apply lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks. Safety & Compliance: * Ensure processes and equipment meet safety regulations and standards. * Conduct safety training for operators and production staff. Documentation & Reporting: * Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams. * Prepare and present reports on production metrics, process improvements, and downtime analysis. Job RequirementsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:* Bachelor s degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience * 3-5 years of experience in metal stamping or a related manufacturing process. Experience in Powder coating is desirable. * Proficient in metal stamping technologies, tooling design, and material properties. * Skilled in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools. * Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills. * Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards. * Familiarity with ERP systems. Physical Demands* Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures. * Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed. * Lifting, carrying, and handling parts and tools up to 40 pounds without assistance
