Job Summary
The Process Engineer troubleshoots materials, processes, and tooling production issues in plastic extrusion environment.
Job Responsibilities
* Work closely with Production Managers to resolve ongoing production issues
* Assist in transition of new process developments
* Lead process optimization and continuous process improvement activities
* Start up new equipment and train operators
* Establish and maintain best practice operating procedures
* Work with Maintenance to ensure safe, continuous operation of extrusion equipment
* Work with design engineering staff to improve equipment performance and reliability
* Support and drive the Zeus Operating System Dimensions and Guiding/Supporting Principles
Qualifications
* Prior experience in polymer extrusion preferred. Plastics experience (Injection / Extrusion) / Extrusion experience (Rubber, etc) / Medical device process is preferred
* 4 yr. Engineering Degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems or Lean Certification preferred
* Able to understand and document a process accurately
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects
* Project management skills
* Continuous improvement, Kaizen, SPC, and TPM experience
* Team environment and independent working experience
* Black belt / six sigma desired
* Hands-on-style
