CommScope is looking for a Process Engineer to join our team onsite in Claremont, NC.

How You'll Help Us Connect the WorldProvide technical direction to all phases of Process Engineering to improve quality, reduce costs and maximize production, establishing the company as a world-class low-cost quality producer. Plan, develop, organize, manage, and coordinate specific project assignments to reduce downtime, improve productivity and reduce scrap. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical assistance to reduce start-up scrap, minimize downtime, improve quality, and maximize production.
  • Provide technical support for raw material evaluations, new product development, and product improvement.
  • Assist in production line layout and design, including specifications, capital requests, and vendor selection.
  • Coordinate with work coordinators and operations supervisors on work priorities and schedules.
  • Analyze and address production defects with Quality Representatives.
  • Travel between Claremont and Catawba sites (12 miles) - less than 10%.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Two or more years of experience with process engineering in a manufacturing environment

You Will Excite Us if you Have

  • Solid understanding of extrusion, cable manufacturing and buffer tube manufacturing processes
  • Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, or other process improvement tools.
  • Ability to regularly contact, influence and negotiate with both internal and external individuals on complex issues.
  • Experince in Fiber Optic/Copper cable industry Manufacturing.
  • SolidWorks/3-D Modeling experience
  • Project Management skills
