Job Summary/OverviewUnder the direction of the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Process Improvement Engineer evaluates, implements and/or revises processes to improve productivity and quality, reduce costs, and more efficiently serve internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Identify continuous improvement opportunities to the manufacturing processes in areas of manufacturing flow, line layout, equipment procurement, cycle time improvement, cost reduction, and material presentation. Utilizing Best Practices , leverage common processes with other business units.
- Develop project schedules and resource plans, while cognizant of impact to ergonomics, safety and customer satisfaction. Provide leadership, direction and technical expertise to implement these manufacturing and/or quality improvement projects according to plan as well as monitoring and reporting on project activities.
- Provide and support the communication of key measurements on the operations performance.
- Lead production associates, team leaders, the production manager, and cross-functional teams on a routine basis, providing technical direction and support for manufacturing to address process and product issues while identifying improvement opportunities.
- Support and foster cultural change initiatives necessary to achieve organizational goals.
- Develop, procure, implement, and maintain assembly documentation, tools, and fixtures.
- Act as a technical resource to customers, vendors, and other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
- Lead the organization in implementing and embracing LEAN tools (5S, Daily and Visual Management, TPM, Kanban, JIT, Cellular Manufacturing, VSM, Pareto, RCCM)
- Provide leadership in Single Piece Flow implementation, training, and maintenance. Aid in the certification and training of the workforce. Act as a technical resource for production associates on the use of Single Piece Flow principles.
- Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents.
- Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, Engineering/Science preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in Lean Management/Continuous Improvement, manufacturing preferred.
