Job Description:
This role is responsible for the overall processing operations on the 3rd shift (10:30pm -7:30am). The focus is specifically people management in the manufacturing of green coffee. This position ensures quality product is produced meeting HAACP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards for packaging.- Develop team members to handle daily business needs to meet goals and objectives.- Establish and execute standards of performance goals, standardize work on production lines.- Implement policies and procedures fairly and consistently with employees.- Essential to the position is problem solving, planning, prioritization and execution skills.- Leadership skills that exhibit integrity, ownership and a can-do attitude are a must.- Decision-making skills with an inherent ability to command, consult, gain consensus and effective delegation.- Expedite problem solving between mechanics, technicians, operators and support groups.- Works with Planner to coordinate maintenance work and PMs on the roasters. - Promotes team involvement and participation in setting goals, priorities, and strategies for safe, efficient, and effective plant/facility operations.- Ability to use resources when we have electrical / mechanical problems on equipment, work out long-term / short-term solutions that will be needed to keep the equipment running.- Manage daily schedule, schedule coffee requirement through packaging and the planning group.- Communicate any changes being made to the equipment or processes.- Work with maintenance on problem solving of equipment.- Verify and insure operators are properly trained and cross trained on equipment.- Manage employee work schedule / eliminate unnecessary overtime.- Supporting Lean Manufacturing and 6-Sigma teams for OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement.- Perform a weekly safety and 5s audit and share with your team.- Reduce the amount of out of spec coffee, investigate issues and share the information with your team. Set up action plans to increase team's first time quality.- Perform employee reviews for employee feedback, weekly 5s audit and other duties as assigned.Performance bonus, competitive benefits package and performance based advancement.
