TITLE: Process/Technical Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Provides Technical/Process support to the production function of efficiently manufacturing consistent quality. Provides troubleshooting assistance to the production group in all production areas. Establishes and maintains programs and systems to improve the quality consistency of our products. Develop and designs new products as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S./MS degree in Engineering or with minimum or equivalent experience in industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production operators (plant), marketing and purchasing.
- Blown film /multi-layer extrusion film formulation experience is a plus.
- Additional experience in statistical methods or statistical process control techniques is plus.
- Additional education in Chemical, Material, Polymer Science or Technology is a plus.
- Certificate of ASQ is a plus.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform trial run to (1) improve existing process / product / formulation (2) develop new process / product /
- formulation, including new resins. Submit recommendation report to manager approval, if necessary.
- Set up product specifications and formulations according to trial run or study of customer requirements
- competitor's data. Update procedures and specifications of the Technical department.
- Set up/Update S.O.C (standard operating conditions) and S.O.P (standing operating procedure).
- Process support and troubleshooting at production. Technical service/support to marketing and customer
- Customer complaint response.
- Raw materials and master batch selection and qualification upon manager's approval. Preparation of resin
- Communicate with raw material vendors regarding Technical issues with raw materials
- Use of AS400 system to maintain formula coding system
- Technical service/support to marketing and customer, and update regulation mandates
- Carry out job duties and projects assigned by Technical Manager. May serve as ISO/SQF internal auditor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily temperature conditions.
- Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
- Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
- Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
- Subject to noise causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
