We improve and advance our employees' and patients' lives that depend on our products.Responsibilities:The Duties of the Mold / Process Technician include, but are not limited to the Following:
  • Observe all Safety rules within the manufacturing area and report all violations of the Safety Policy to the immediate Supervisor or another member of Management.
  • Review Production schedule and follow the set priorities.
  • Set Up all Scheduled production Molds and machines to established process (Per process master) and ensure they are running to rate and defect free.
  • Perform Daily Preventive maintenance on Molds that are in production and document anything found out of the normal.
  • Clean Mold and Machine Platen and any areas that are out of the normal scope of the Operators for cleaning purposes If production demands are high the Mold/Process Tech will support the operation in a mold setter function and will be required to Pull and Set Up production tooling.
  • If mold is pulled on the Shift the Mold/Process Technician is responsible for the proper shutdown and following the Quality procedure for the collection of Shutdown Shots.
  • The tools that are required to perform this job are provided by the company and are signed by the employee and are expected to be kept in clean and good working order. Any tool that is signed for and lost will be replaced by the employee or the depreciated cost will be taken from the final paycheck if there is a separation of employment.
  • The Mold/Process Technician will perform appropriate trouble shooting and will be expected to fix defects with adjustments of the machine settings within established guidelines to keep the machine producing Quality product.
  • During the performing of the day-to-day duties the Mold Technician will be asked to perform material handling duties if needed and will also support the training of new material handlers as needed
  • The robotic parts handling will be part of the setup of certain product lines, this will require the Mold Technician to pull the Program from memory and make small adjustments if needed. This will include runner pickers and Robots.
  • This position will work closely with the Maintenance department to ensure all issues with Production Machines are written up and the machinery is in safe operating condition.
  • This Position will work hand in hand with the Process Technician to make sure that all issues with part or tooling is addressed and slated for repair.
  • Ensure the production floor is clean and all areas are free of clutter and in the assigned state of 5S
  • The Mold Technician is required to work with the Quality Department and Operations representatives to solve any issues that arise during the shift.
  • Any other duties that fall into scope and are not a safety risk as prescribed by your supervisor.
Added Job Responsibilities for Process Technician:
  • Know how to check the 1st stage to ensure decoupled molding is being followed and use this as a starting point for all Troubleshooting.
  • Develop new processes as molds are moved between presses to achieve the KPIV's from the prior machine.
  • Responsible for filling in when the Lead Tech is not available.
  • Trouble shoot Molding issues and make calculated changes to process parameters to correct the issues without sacrificing cycle time or part quality.
  • Must be able to read schedule and determine if orders are going to finish and plan accordingly.
  • Must be able to go to a machine or mold that is having issues and systematically trouble shoot it and get the needed resources from responsible department to correct problem.
  • Be able to help train and help develop talent in the Mold Technicians, Mold Setters, and Material Handlers
  • Perform at a continually higher level and correct issues that less qualified employees do not fix.
  • Find problems or issues that are running in production and document them so we can address them at the end of the run and before the next production run. This requires communication between Maintenance and Tooling.
  • This position is a leader and driver of Process Team goals and with that has to be an effective communicator and give clear and concessive feed back to the Lead Tech and Engineers
RequirementsRequired:
  • Good Communication Skills
  • The Ability to Speak, Read and Write in English
  • Processing Experience with a Trouble shooting background in Plastics.
  • The ability to train and be trained to continue Growth in Field
  • Computer Literacy
  • Ability to Lift 50 LBS
  • Ability to Stand for Long periods of time.
  • Basic Math
  • Ability to work night shift, overtime and weekends as needed.
Preferred:
  • RJG Decoupled Molding Training (Sys 1, Master Molder 1)
  • Basic Blueprint reading
  • White Belt and Yellow Belt Training
