Actively involved with maintaining process control and product flow and basic troubleshooting maintenance and product quality issues on equipment. May assist the manufacturing supervisor(s) with the activities of the production organization.Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates understanding of processes and machines in area. Partner with higher level process technicians to improve change-over times and efficiencies.
- Know and can demonstrate all machine operator level III responsibilities in manufacturing department.
- Performs new machine run-offs.
- Support new tooling qualifications. Adjust and modify tool settings on equipment due to wear, breakage, or quality issues.
- Possess basic quality capability of processes and troubleshoot machining issues that involve quality, equipment set up, technical issues, etc.
- Partner with higher level process technicians to problem solve to determine root cause and partner with engineering and other departments to support implement solutions.
- Responds to production needs with urgency (down equipment, process problems, and quality issues) to meet production goals.
Additional Functions:
- Performs employee development training and machinery certifications through collaboration with manufacturing training coordinator.
- Support coverage as needed for shift leads, shift supervisor, and supervisors.
Experience and Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Two years formal technical training and three years' work experience in a manufacturing environment or four years technical job experience required.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read, comprehend, speak and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret SDS's, work instructions, technical manuals, OHSA and Federal standards.
- Effectively utilize intermediate shop math and intermediate computer skills.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading required.
- Basic problem-solving skills required.
- Intermediate mechanical knowledge required. Must be familiar with and demonstrate ability to set up and change over several types of equipment in one or more machining areas including proficiency in all machine operator level III responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
- Must participate in training to become effective at basic Solidworks, and machine shop ordering process.

The employee occasionally sits; climbs; twists, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Working Conditions/Physical Hazards: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment, and is frequently exposed to production environment. Work area is well lit and air-conditioned.
