Job Description:
Summary:The Process Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining ISO compliant processing standards for both production and development. You will work with all levels of the organization to develop and manage injection molding processes including, mold setting, process development and execution, material handling procedures, and troubleshooting.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for injection molding process performance on the production floor
  • Responsible for proper mold installation and removal from press
  • Responsible for condition of tools while being used for production/storage
  • Responsible for process development and problem solving
  • Responsible for contributing to and promoting a high-performance team
  • Responsible for maintaining cycle times, reducing scrap, and reducing downtime
  • Responsible for answering alarms and correcting issues as a result
  • Responsible for proper set-up and line clearance procedures
  • Responsible for initiating shop orders for mold maintenance or repair
  • Participate on teams that require technical expertise
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining process sheets/data sheets, change forms
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Responsible for level of quality produced by the department
  • Promote a high level of communication between departments to execute customer orders
  • Promote and participate actively in continuous improvement
  • Maintain working relationships with other department managers and personnel
  • Assess equipment utilization and operation and suggest uses/improvements
  • Perform other tasks as directed by manager
  • Overtime is required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret process sheets, quality plans, work instructions, and apply the knowledge appropriately
  • Ability to develop and write process documents and train personnel
  • Intermediate use of Office software including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to interact within all levels of the organization
  • Beginners knowledge of CAD/Solid works and Mold flow
  • Ability to disassemble and clean tooling
  • Ability to set/change daters
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain appropriate processing documentation
  • Beginners experience in formalized problem solving
  • Ability to exchange end-of-arm tooling
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001-2008 and TS-16949-2009
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven mechanical skills
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to perform complex applications of percentages and averages and ratios
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, make decisions and take charge of production situations with clear and calm demeanor
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Injection Molding Training Certificate
  • Material Handling Training Certificate
Physical Demands:
  • Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing environment with associated noises, smells and temperatures
