Fluoropolymer Resources LLC (FRL) is currently seeking a dedicated results driven Process Technician in our North Windham, CT location. FRL is the global leader in reprocessing of melt processable fluoropolymers, as well as the distribution of virgin fluoropolymer resin. We are a dynamic and flexible company on an aggressive growth trajectory, offering products and services to multiple industries in global markets as we continue to innovate and invest in production capability and people.Position Summary: As a Process Technician, you are responsible for operating, troubleshooting and maintain reactors and all equipment related to chemical 'ART' process.Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure all safety practices are followed and upheld
  • Run and monitor multiple chemical reactors
  • Troubleshoot and maintain all equipment related to chemical 'ART' process
  • Move material in and out of reactors and peripheral processing equipment
  • Load and unload chemicals
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot water treatment system
  • Accurate recording of chemical and water process conditions
  • Monitor all equipment to ensure it is safe to operate and replace parts where needed
  • Work with engineering department on continuous improvement projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry and chemical safety standards
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly
  • Need to be continuously attentive to chemical and water process
  • Able to work in a fast-paced chemical environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Able to work with hands, pumps, and monitoring devices
  • Previous water treatment experience is a plus
  • Ability to drive a forklift or willingness to learn is a plus
  • HAZMAT is a plus
RequirementsREQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates degree or technical degree in a chemistry related discipline or 2+ years' experience, in chemical environment as a chemical operator
  • Wear respiratory devices for certain tasks
  • Rinse and clean parts and well as chemical operating equipment
  • Contain and report spills
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Clean, Maintain, Replace and inspect glass and metal equipment
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
  • Recognize quality issues with material
