Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week between 7:15 and 5:30 (8 hour days)
The Dental Processing Assistant performs a variety of customer service, clerical and office assistance tasks including data entry and word processing duties associated with the dental program clinical and community activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Greets and registers patients and visitors
* Interviews clients and obtains financial, medical and personal data while ensuring confidentiality of information
* Maintains dental appointment schedule within specified scheduling guidelines
* Provides orientation to new patients
* Maintains working knowledge of NC Medicaid, NC Tracks, Dentrix Enterprise and common insurance plans
* Ensures data is entered accurately
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, associates degree or higher, DA I or DA II preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and office assistance techniques
* Knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic
* Ability to follow and apply policies and procedures
* Accurately record and enter data into computer reports at a reasonable rate of speed
* Possess ability to effectively maintain working relationships with clients, community partners, school administrative staff, nurses and general public
