Respect Job Summary:The Processing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the processing plant operations including, but not limited to, the daily operations regarding orders, inventories, staffing, machines efficiency, scheduling, and time management. This position works reports to the Sr. Processing Manager and works closely with the Senior Manager of Customer Quality and Planning, Food Safety Manager, Production Manager, Maintenance Manager, Safety Manager, and Human Resources and Accounting. The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring that all employees adhere to all State and Federal regulations, including but not limited to; FDA, USDA, SQF and OSHAEssential Job Functions:
  • Promote a culture of safety, assuring that all staff works their job duties with safety being top priority.
  • Supply the servant leadership required to motivate your employees to work as a team in meeting corporate and plant goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and development to their teams.
  • Lead the plant in initiating and executing plans and processes which minimize production costs through effective and efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Run all customer orders with the highest quality and efficiency at the lowest possible cost
  • Manage, record, and report egg and packaging inventories
  • Manage and improve plant supplies including but not limited to chemicals, labels, Parts, PPE, etc.
  • Create a good working environment in the plant that enhances employee performance and retention
  • Be responsible for the financial stewardship of the plant by developing a budget and implementing effective systems of control over the operating expenditures of the plant.
  • Create, train, implement, and improve on operating processes and procedures
  • Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout plant for problem-solving and cost reduction.
  • Maintain compliance with all FDA, DNR, EPA, USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices and SQF Program as well as the SE Prevention, Animal Welfare, and Bio-Security Programs.
  • Works closely with all other departments and create a culture of one team
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • In the absence of Process Plant Manager, Plant Management or Process Management has the ability to perform the duties as described above.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years' leadership experience in the Food Processing, Beverage, or manufacturing industries.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (i.e. Food Science, Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Operations, etc.) or commensurate experience.
  • Must have experience working with the USDA or other regulatory bodies
  • Good Communication (Written / Verbal) skills, organized, goal oriented, accountable.
  • High documentation and written procedure skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in high stress environment
  • Good Leadership skills and Management skills
  • Must be competent in the Microsoft Office suite of products and computer savvy
  • Bilingual in English Spanish Preferred.
  • Agile, able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to perform all job duties of processing plant personnel.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments, walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time
