DescriptionThe Procurement and Logistics Specialist will ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective receipt, delivery, and storage of incoming materials, supplies, and equipment. Individuals occupying this position must remain vigilant and pay close attention to detail to identify any variances between what has been ordered and what has physically arrived on-site and communicate any discrepancies to the appropriate vendor. The Procurement and Logistics Specialist is also responsible for timely distribution of necessary materials and/or mail to and from any/all internal departments at all CARTI locations. They also must maintain diligent record keeping practices and provide engaged support to CARTI team members who require assistance.SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborates with procurement staff to list expected deliveries.
  • Receives shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
  • Unloads packages from incoming trucks.
  • Inspects contents to ensure they are undamaged.
  • Verifies packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.).
  • Contacts supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified.
  • Assumes responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements.
  • Labels deliveries and allocates them to their designated place.
  • Ensures packing slips are signed for satisfactory deliveries.
  • Maintains accurate records and assists in inventory control.
  • Transports supplies, materials, and equipment from clinic to other locations and within clinics including laboratory specimens, medical records/charts, x-rays, bank deposits, payroll, mail, office supplies and other errands as directed.
  • Picks up, sorts, and distributes items to/from assigned locations.
  • Operates and monitors vehicles, equipment, and accessories; records purchase of gas, oil, and other needed items; notifies supervisor of repairs and replacements needed.
  • Responsible for daily pickup of mail from the USPS P.O. Box for all CARTI and CARTI Foundation mailboxes as well as receipt of all incoming daily mail received from the USPS carrier.
  • Responsible for accurately sorting and delivering all mail and inter-office correspondence to pre-established location within defined time frames, either a box in mail room or directly to the department.
  • Responsible for collecting all outgoing mail and inter-office correspondence once per day from pre-established location within defined time frames; either in mail room or directly from the department.
  • Responsible for proper postage on outgoing mail and daily delivery to the post office. This includes proper expense allocation based on required postage.
  • Responsible for managing postage machine, supplies, postage fund refills & postage contract, as well as all USPS, FedEx and UPS postage and shipping supplies, including procurement of additional supplies as needed.
  • OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Other duties as needed.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: NoEDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
  • 2 years of practical experience in supply chain management, including sourcing, procurement, and logistics. Preferred
  • REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
  • Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.

  • Employee is required to regularly lift objects greater than 50 lbs.
