About the Job
This is a direct-hire opportunity for an experienced Procurement manger with experience in a manufacturing setting ( ideally metal) to oversee the efficient flow of materials in and out of their manufacturing plant. You will lead a team of 3 and be responsible for procurement, inventory control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of buyers and planners.
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials, with a focus on metal manufacturing for valve production.
- Negotiate with domestic and international vendors to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, quality assurance, engineering) to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in materials management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in procuring raw materials for metal manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Six Sigma certification is a plus.
