Building Construction Products division (BCP) is hiring a Procurement Manager for the North American Nonmetallic Category. This role is accountable for managing the BCP North America category strategy for the BCP business.

Job Summary:

This candidate leads the collaboration with any Engineering system team or Product Group Chassis team and suppliers located in North America on delivering the quality, cost, and performance requirements for nonmetallic components across BCP products. This candidate collaborates with suppliers, sites, and product groups to develop and optimize a resilient world-class supply base.

What You Will Do:

People: The successful candidate will manage a high performing regional team of supplier development engineers and purchasing professionals who manage the supply base to deliver on BCP's QCLDM requirements. Reporting directly to this position are Supplier Development Engineers, Buyers, and Advanced Purchasing Analyst.

Leadership:? Develop, mentor, and train personnel capable of delivering the North America Regional BCP Nonmetallic strategy and work with the other global regional teams as needed. Lead supplier performance management for the Nonmetallic Category. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse organization and recognize employee excellence. ?Demonstrate sound business acumen. Demonstrate high degree of emotional intelligence while collaborating across a complex enterprise-wide procurement organization. Build and maintain strong relationships with key supplier leadership. Represent BCP on the Nonmetallic Category Council.

Strategy:? Using a Strategic Sourcing approach, regularly evaluate strategic options and ensure that our Nonmetallic North American Regional sourcing strategy is aligned to support BCP global business requirements. Set and sustain strategy and lead teams to fully understand the capability of the current supply base and suppliers with potential for BCP.

Customers:? The role will encompass managing suppliers delivering into many Caterpillar facilities, including the service network. The role will require a strong communicator capable of keeping business partners fully informed of progress and working closely with the customer to ensure all requirements are met.

Supplier Development:? Utilizing the QCLDM supplier development and measurement tool, the incumbent will ensure an ongoing improvement plan is in effect with key suppliers. This will require relationship building at senior levels with the suppliers that encourages trust, professionalism and continuous improvement. Cost modeling will be used extensively and will require a strong knowledge of macroeconomics and well as component costing.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

* Degree/Experience: bachelor's degree in a technical or business curriculum AND progressive experience in directly related Supply Management roles.

* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization, facilitating seamless collaboration and alignment.

* Possess understanding of procurement, demonstrating knowledge across strategic sourcing, supplier management and supply chain optimization.

* Strong knowledge of quality management principles to procurement processes, ensuring consistent and continuous improvement methodologies.

* Proven track record of managing relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, driving collaboration, and achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.

Top Candidates Will Have:

* Strong communication and negotiation skills

* Knowledge of Quality and Cost Modeling tools

* Lean manufacturing and an understanding of lean principles

* Previous 6 Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or Sponsor experience

* This position requires regional travel up of 25%.

* Location: Clayton, NC.
