Job SummaryThe Procurement Research & Insight Trainee L7 will assist the Category Manager in delivering the innovation strategy, develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with procurement programs. The role involves supporting cost of goods (COGS) management, innovation score carding, and sourcing new suppliers for product launches. The successful candidate will also collaborate with Procurement Category Managers to address capability gaps in the supplier base, identify savings opportunities, and ensure adherence to purchasing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Category Manager in executing the innovation strategy.
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure programs are met on time in full (OTIF) and with 100% compliance.
- Support transparent financials through COGS management for new components.
- Manage innovation score carding across packaging and liquid suppliers, and present feedback to leadership teams.
- Build expertise in packaging and liquid categories to educate the business on sourcing and financial drivers.
- Collaborate with Procurement Category Managers to identify gaps in supplier capabilities and onboard new suppliers when necessary.
- Source new suppliers for innovation pipeline product launches.
- Support vendor management for innovation launches, working with Innovation Project Managers and Supply Category Procurement teams.
- Identify opportunities for savings through innovation sourcing and process improvements.
- Ensure cross-functional stakeholders comply with PtP processes, including PO creation, budget management, vendor reinstatement, and compliant purchasing practices.
Required Qualifications- University degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement and/or project management in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and a team-oriented attitude.
- Proven experience in building stakeholder relationships and managing suppliers.
- Proficiency in SAP, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills to address complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications- Business or procurement qualifications such as CIPS or MBA.
- Experience in purchasing or project management within a dynamic environment.
