Procurement Lead
We are looking for a Procurement Lead for a well-known company in Canton Ohio. This position will be responsible for the timely execution of orders according to customer specifications and planning by overseeing the procurement of materials.
Location: Canton Ohio- 100% onsite.
Salary: $75-85k- with bonus
Key Responsibilities
• Implement strategies for cost reduction and supply chain risk management.
• Be an active participant in a global focus group of peers whose focus is to ensure that selection of suppliers is according to the materials procurement strategy.
• Selecting, contracting and developing (international) suppliers in accordance with the vision / policy of the Global Materials Management department (quality, availability, costs).
• Build and maintain strong (overseas) supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply and favorable terms.
• Utilize data analytics to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize purchasing decisions.
• Researching the market and market developments regarding raw materials and semi-finished products (price, quality and availability).
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
• Planning, organizing and supervising the work performed, conducting performance and appraisal interviews, educating and training and rewarding the employees of the Local Materials Management department.
• Continuously acquire technical knowledge of manufacturing processes such as roll forming, injection molding, machine construction and value-added services.
• Investigate, handle and resolve complaints around material availability and quality and make improvement proposals and continuously improve processes within Materials Management.
Requirements
In possession of an Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration (or relevant work history), Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Additional procurement degree is preferable
Job experience
Proven working experience as Procurement Lead or (Tactical) Purchaser in a technical assembly environment.
