Producer Licensing Specialist, Individual Licensing will primarily be responsible for assisting with the licensing and regulatory compliance of the internal individual licensees that support the domestic (re)insurance business of Starr Companies.

Essential Job Functions

* Prepare and submit initial applications and renewal filings for individual licenses (Producer, Adjuster, Surplus Lines Broker, and Reinsurance Intermediary).

* Liaise with internal contacts and insurance regulators via email and phone.

* Coordinate timely licensing and regulatory solutions to support new business initiatives.

* Maintain up-to-date contact information and affiliation records.

* Manage, for compliance and best practice purposes, reference and regulatory filing materials.

* Understand and implement processes prescribed by various insurance regulators.

* Field licensing inquiries related to individual licensees.

* Draft digital and hard copy correspondence.

* Request and reconcile payments to vendors and insurance regulators with an accounting department.

* Gather licensing and compliance information through research.

* Complete special projects and assignments as needed.

* Work within a team environment.

* Handle multiple, competing priorities.

* Build strong relationships with co-workers on the Producer Licensing Team in the Legal Department and throughout Starr.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree.

* 1-2 years of related law firm or in-house experience.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.

* Strong organizational and writing skills.

* A dedicated approach towards the execution of assignments.

* Performance of tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

* Ability to follow established workflows and guidelines.

* Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

Preferred

* Paralegal certification.

* Insurance industry experience.

* Property & casualty insurance licensing experience in multiple jurisdictions.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $64,000-$73,000
