ABOUT THE ROLEThis role will complement the product development analyst through data research that will support the definition of the product roadmap established by the company providing useful insights for all health lines of business developed in collaboration with internal data analysis teams. Support the preparation of reports and presentations that align with the company's strategic goals, providing data-driven insights that guide product development decisions. Must provide guidance and clarity for uncovered trends and market behavior correlations to enable product development executives to provide solutions for customers and potential members.
WHAT YOU'LL DOData Analysis and Insights Development
- Create and maintain all market competition regarding product and pricing for Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial participating segments. Nonparticipating segments must be kept as possible opportunity markets.
- Create and maintain product performance matrix using available membership, network performance, and clinical trends reports including financial information to evaluate viability of product and recommend future direction.
- Maintain a log of all available dashboard and reports that will feed insight creation regarding market and product performance.
- Develop monthly insights memos that synthesize findings that identify opportunities for product development, network consideration or untapped markets from internal data sources and external credible sources to product development executives to inform and support strategy development.
- Develop analytics from marketing research done and maintain historical knowledge of market conditions from primary research invested by the company for Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial markets.
- Produce any ad-hoc analysis reports to support timely decision-making in product design and development processes.
- Prepare in the development of strategic memos and presentations for senior management that not only highlight data-driven product-related insights to help improve operational performance and achieve organizational goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration for Data Gathering
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with key departments including but not limited to Actuarial, Data Governance, Health Analytics, Claims, Sales, Finance, Network, Marketing, to gather necessary data and maintain reference log up to date.
- Actively collaborate with marketing to develop annual research needed to measure market conditions and demand for each line of business as needed.
- Facilitate the flow of information between Product Development and other departments, ensuring that consistency of relevant data being considered in strategy decisions.
- Conduct outreach to operational and strategy areas to obtain utilization data, member profiles, and feedback from focus groups to incorporate diverse perspectives into product development.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of data required for analysis, managing expectations and deadlines effectively.
Operational Impact Support
- Identify key operational service levels to include insights in trends that may be impacted in suggested actions such as desired pre authorizations increase, call increases, network support or availability of specialist as required by the desired analysis to support operational decision making. Provide actionable recommendations that integrate product performance insights with operational strategy, helping to optimize processes and improve overall business outcomes.
- Develop metrics and monitor reports of year end changes in products effectiveness of implemented strategies, and any unforeseen shifts in projected outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL BRINGBachelor's degree in Data Analysis, Marketing research, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Public Health, Statistics or Biostatistics, or related field. At least 2 years of experience in business analysis, market data research, financial analyst, statistician in health, preferably within the health insurance industry.
