As a Compact Wheel Loader (CWL) Product Application Specialist, you will provide product and application expertise to global field sales representatives and dealers to support prime product and work tool sales execution and alignment, such as right-sizing buckets. You will also significantly support the CWL Product Group and New Product Introduction (NPI) Managers during various NPI phases. This includes collecting and communicating the voice of the customer, developing functional specifications, and identifying critical customer requirements. Additionally, you will be heavily involved in competitive tests and analysis. What you'll do:
- Provide Expertise : Offer product and application expertise to global field sales teams and dealers to support prime product and work tool sales execution, price realization, and improved value proposition.
- Subject Matter Expert : Act as a deep subject matter expert for the family of CWL models, serving as the field's go-to resource.
- Training Development : Develop and deliver product, equipment analysis software, and application training to field reps, dealers, and customers.
- Competitive Analysis : Identify, manage, and report on competitive performance studies, feature/benefit comparisons, and maintenance and repair cost analysis.
- Product Development Support : Provide significant input to the CWL Product Group and NPI teams for next-generation product development. This includes collecting, prioritizing, documenting, and communicating the Voice of the Customer and Voice of the Dealer. Assist in defining and valuing new product features, functional and technical specifications, and general product requirements. Support and monitor readiness for NPI gateway reviews and ongoing Value Analysis work, especially related to competitive performance, features, and maintenance and repair costs.
- Market Awareness : Stay current on the customer/dealer market to support and develop product sales, dealer effectiveness, overall segment growth, NPI process, process improvement, and sales management process improvement.
- Strategic Planning : Apply your knowledge of products, technology, and industry to support Caterpillar, dealer, and customer expectations and needs, contributing to strategic planning.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience using the values and practices that align customer, and dealer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer and dealer solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Caterpillar and competitor products and services and ability to apply knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
- Extensive experience demonstrating skills using the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services including the ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings.
- Effective abilities using relationship management techniques including the ability to establish and maintain healthy working with customers, dealers and internal partners.

- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent role relevant experience.
- An understanding of Caterpillar products as well as competitive products from other OEMs.
- The ability to clearly demonstrate the ability to understand and articulate technical machine performance and application knowledge that allows you to be regarded as an expert in product application.
- Experience interacting with a dealer network either in an industry or product support capacity.
