We have an opportunity available for a Product Consultant to work within our Sales Team. The primary focus of the product consultant position is to generate profitable growth with non-contract foodservice existing and prospective customers through a highly proactive over-the-phone sales approach.
The Product Consultant will be responsible for growing a customer base of repeat buyers through prospecting, calling leads and building relationships with proactive communication. This person must be able to navigate and manage the needs of their customers who have access to them through multiple channels: mobile devices, website, call center, chats, emails and catalog.
What you will do:
Drive Profitable Growth
- Achieve budgeted growth targets
- Develop customized product quotations on behalf of the company based on customer needs assessment conversations.
- Lead generation/prospecting calls and emails
- Daily meaningful proactive customer touches:
- Follow-up on orders to offer add-on, cross-sell, up-sell options
- Marketing campaigns highlighting new products, promotions, market solutions
- Post sales order follow up and relationship building
Develop Product & Industry Knowledge
- Responsible for becoming familiar with products in all categories & their applications in all customer segments.
- Engage customers in needs assessment conversations to learn about their restaurant, school foodservice, business or institutional operation.
- Attend all vendor training sessions conducted

What we need:
- Minimum 1-year sales experience, preferably in multi-channel inside phone sales.
- Experience in the foodservice industry is preferred.
- College degree is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal & relationship building skills
- Sharp organizational skills for effective, timely follow-through
- Excellent computer skills to navigate between desktop & laptop programs: ERP, Salesforce (CRM software), Outlook, Teams and AutoQuotes)
- Superb negotiation skills
- Possess an attitude driven to succeed & money motivated
- Effective oral and written communication skills
