Job Description:

Adecco Creative and Marketing partnered with an eco-conscious material trendsetter to hire a Senior Manger for Product Design, Surfaces.

This is a full time, onsite role. You will work either in office in Alpharetta AND the manufacturing plant in Adairsville. The salary is $90,000-$150,000, based on experience.

Role Description:

The Product Design and Development Manager will manage the creation, development, analysis, and research of new product designs and patterns for HIMACS, VIATERA, and TERACANTO. This role involves researching market trends, analyzing customer requirements, improving existing products, and collaborating closely with product managers and engineers. The position will also include generating color and pattern samples for product development, customer meetings, and supporting the marketing and sales teams with resources and presentations to promote new products. The Manager will contribute to innovative production technology initiatives to enhance design and manufacturability.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze market and design trends by attending tradeshows, utilizing trend-forecasting services, and identifying key trends.
  • Lead the research and development of colors, materials, formulations, and processes for new products.
  • Conduct lab and mass production tests for new products and colors.
  • Oversee the selection and preparation of new products for launch.
  • Develop customized colors for specific sectors such as Recreational Vehicle (RV) and OEM.
  • Conduct market trend analysis by attending key industry events, such as KBIS, Coverings, RV Show, Milan Furniture Fair, and Verona Stone Fair.
  • Visit K&B dealers and fabricators for surveys to analyze trends by region and channel.
  • Conduct competitor analysis on surfaces products and customer requirements.
  • Collect the voice of the customer through focus studies, surveys, and direct customer visits.
  • Regularly analyze competitor designs and offerings.
  • Collaborate with the HQ Design Center in South Korea or external design experts for insights and development.
  • Develop design strategies and concepts for new products.
  • Present design and trend proposals to customers at internal and external events.
  • Lead outsourced design projects by coordinating with the Surfaces Product Management team, managing communication with overseas suppliers/vendors, and evaluating lab samples and color matching.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Textile, Graphic, Interior, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • Relevant experience in product design and development.
  • Proficient in MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Skilled in design-related software programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and customers.
