McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Media Product Designer within our K-12 division who will be responsible for implementing the media design vision, strategy, and workflow into world-class educational products for the Literacy portfolio. The Media Product Designer is responsible for collaborating across cross-functional teams to create and deliver effective and engaging teaching and learning experiences. The Media Product Designer is accountable for delivering designs on time and on budget. You will operate in an environment that requires problem-solving, team collaboration, and communication skills. This position is remote and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. This role will be filled as a Project Status Worker (PSW) designation. What you will be doing: Develop engaging and purposeful visually engaging, effective, and user-friendly media from concept through final delivery by working with cross-functional product development teams to concept, design, research, acquire, track, and seek approval for all media assets: art illustration; photo; video; sound; animation; etc. Clearly articulate choices clearly to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders. Manage external media vendors. Monitor and report project status and guide work to ensure media assets meet expectations for quality, data capture, scalability, alignment to media strategy, budget, and schedule. Develop guidelines for media development that align with product strategy and goals for both internal and external vendors based on project needs. Seek innovative and cost-saving ways to fulfill asset needs by reviewing specs and strategizing media objectives. Possess a high degree of creativity, visual communication, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrate a strong attention to detail, embody the work ethic and personality that thrives in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and cross functional teams. Advocate for the user throughout product development. What you'll need to be successful: BA, BFA, or formal design degree in one of the following: art, film, audio, video, motion graphics, photography, design, or related field. 3+ years' work experience with art buying, media research and acquisition, media development, and project management. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft o Office. Smartsheet and Lucid Chart expertise a plus. Understanding of Web accessibility best practices and guidelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The pay range for this position is between $50,000-$64,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
