Job Description:

Responsibilities - include all aspects of pre-production development including researching, purchasing, and sourcing new or existing products, and maintaining accurate documentation. Will support multiple teams across the product development process. (This is NOT a technology position!)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of new products across multiple lines of business
  • Support requests from internal stakeholders and sales teams to fulfill private label and branded confectionary programs
  • Utilize insights in development of new product and packaging ideas
  • Coordinate new product development including market & product research, competitive analysis, timeline development, sourcing, costing, packaging, and pricing recommendations
  • Assist with product costing breakdown and bill of materials development, including raw materials, components, labor, and other costs to determine pricing
  • Manage and fulfill sample requests for evaluation, customer meetings, and trade shows
  • Work with Quality Control to ensure all new products and packaging are vetted for vendor documentation approval
  • Communicate with domestic and international third-party vendors in sourcing new products and packaging, and obtaining current costs, samples, and specifications to build final costing and business recommendations
  • Work with Marketing and Creative on communication materials supporting new product launches
  • Collaborate with PD team members to support department initiatives

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or internship experience in related field preferred. One (1) to two (2) years' experience in Product Development or Product Management in a manufacturing or CPG organization. Process-oriented, can execute and introduce systemic process. Dynamic multi-tasker; can prioritize, balance, and support multiple initiatives. Possesses an organized, detail-focused approach. Ability to problem solve effectively and creatively. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills. Working knowledge of sales cycles and experience supporting Sales staff and customers. Communicates effectively – both verbally and written. Previous experience with costing or P&Ls, a plus.
