Job Description:
Job DescriptionThe Product Engineer III will be responsible for providing documentation to manufacturing to produce refrigeration products. This will require the structuring and routing of bills of material, coil sizing, refrigeration system design, CAD design including sheet metal, piping, and wiring schematic development and component selection. Duties will also include supporting the shop floor with any drawing interpretation or guidance required, provide any work instructions, and support lean manufacturing improvements for the production line. This position also drives the Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement efforts, in conjunction with the supervisor.This position will serve our HTPG Division, located in Scottsboro, AL. This is an on-site position and you will perform this job entirely at our Scottsboro office.Responsibilities
  • Provide design engineering support for daily sales orders and new product development and customizing existing products to meet special customer requirements.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve techniques for error-free order entry and BOM accuracy.
  • Assists sales and customers with technical product questions and troubleshooting, as well as RFQ requirements for special product applications and quotations.
  • Explore modeling automation potential to improve ETO documentation, design standardization, process improvements, BOM error reduction.
  • Lead special projects to drive standardization, process, and product improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of product experience in air conditioning/refrigeration-related manufacturing operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in 2D/3D modeling with tools such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.
  • Working knowledge of UL/CSA requirements, engineering/manufacturing change processes, vapor compression, and heat transfer principles
  • Understanding of electrical testing and troubleshooting practices as related to electromechanical products.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills for interface with coworkers, managers, and customers
  • Must have computer skills in common office software
HOW TO STAND OUT:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering
  • Experience in air conditioning/refrigeration related manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in design and support of refrigeration racks
  • Knowledge of rack controller product integration for parallel rack applications
  • Knowledge in design and support of glycol chillers
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and structural steel frame design
  • Experience with ERP/MRP engineering functions required for BOM and ECN processes
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, electrical schematic skills, and piping techniques.
  • Experience with Toyota Production System is a plus
