Job Description:
General Information:Hitachi Energy is seeking a Product Engineer for its Raleigh, NC (or alternatively Montreal, QC) location. In this critical role, the candidate will report to the North America eMobility Operations Manager.Your Responsibilities:Responsible for technical deliverables and process related to product industrialization for North American eMobility product lines.Assist in the development of cost-effective Bills of Materials (BOM), electrical schematics, and CAD drawings.Support industrialization, FAT activities at Local Assembly Units (LAU), including the preparation of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and programming of software specific to EV charging systems.Offer technical support for the assembly of EV charging products at the LAU.Work closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, and control engineers to ensure the design and functionality of EV charging products and systems.Analyze incoming orders to ensure compliance with bid requirements and negotiated agreements, focusing on EV charging solutions.Provide expert technical support to customers and sales representatives leveraging in-depth knowledge of EV charging products.Verify drawings of EV charging components and participate in the parts approval process (PPAP) as needed.Support Product Life Cycle Management:Lifecycle Planning: Contribute to the planning and management of the entire product life cycle of EV charging products, from concept through to end-of-life.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for product improvements and innovations throughout the product life cycle to enhance performance and customer satisfaction. Coordinate with GCoC Product care function, the request and the implementation of product change requests.Sustainability Initiatives: Support sustainability initiatives by integrating eco-friendly practices and materials into the product life cycle of EV charging solutions.Feedback Integration: Gather and analyze customer feedback, market trends, and competitor benchmarking to inform product development and life cycle strategies.Proactively follow the development of external standards/local regulations to make necessary business preparations for alignment. Enhance internal tools and processes across the organization by identifying, sharing, and supporting the adoption of best practices, while also acting as a product leader.Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Hitachi Energy's E-Mobility Portfolio, strategies, and organizational structure, both within NAM and Global R&D organization.Lead & participate in discussions and promote knowledge sharing among colleagues to enhance customer value by recommending technological improvements in how products and sub-systems are integrated into comprehensive customer solutions.Your accountabilities include assuring full compliance with process and quality in product engineering, focusing on customer needs and requirements as well as the internal requirements.
