Job Description:
Nextek Development builds software applications and solutions to serve the needs of independent Financial Service Professionals. We are seeking a motivated Product Owner to join our Nextek team to guide the vision of our financial planning software.Role Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Financial Planning, or related field – RequiredPrevious experience as a Product Owner – PreferredFinancial Services industry experience – PreferredPeople leadership experience – PreferredKnowledge of how to negotiateKnowledge of how to drive the customer renewal strategy and executionKnowledge of business operationsCompetent knowledge of products and services offered by Nextek and industryProficient knowledge of operations and impact to customer experience in a financial technology industryProficient knowledge of big picture thinkingProficient knowledge of overall company structureAdvanced knowledge of testing processes and methodologiesAdvanced knowledge of project management, timelines, deadlines, and follow-throughon finished projectsAdvanced knowledge of office procedures and of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmeticAdvanced knowledge of financial services industryAdvanced knowledge of industry regulations and operational guidelinesAdvanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologiesCompetent skills in driving the customer renewal strategy and executionProficient skills in public speakingAdvanced skills in prioritizationProficient project management skillsDay-to-Day Duties:Refine and drive product vision and strategy for our financial planning (ie. retirement planning) softwareDefining product features according to customer needsLeading the development processAssisting the development team during building phase to ensure the feature meets user expectationsConduct market and user research to identify user needsStrategizing and presenting ideas to stakeholdersActing as the main point of contact between teams and stakeholdersKeeping customers and stakeholders informed of the status of the productProvide direct correspondence and support for customer inquiries, including calls, emails and face-to-faceAssist team members with elevated inquiresCreate presentations, educate and train clients, stakeholders and/employeesManaging and prioritizing product backlog itemsAdjusting and improving each iteration of the product before releaseIdentifying areas of improvementProvide ongoing training and growth for team membersInitiate and work with team members to promote collaboration and team developmentBe a resource to team members to answer questions regarding client correspondence, processes and procedures, compliance, and all other as necessaryPartner to troubleshoot issues that team members may haveProvide training and insight to team members on best practicesAll other duties as assignedAbout Nextek & Our Values:Nextek is committed to helping you reach your career's maximum altitude.
