Main Responsibilities- Works collaboratively with Administrators to understand brand strategy and identify product opportunities. Influences and drives product research, analysis, design and development. Guides, consults and monitors implementation.
- Coordinates with relevant control partners (to include Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Identifies and analyzes key products, portfolio performance, and profitability drivers.
- Assesses priority of various product and pricing opportunities based on strategic alignment, key objectives and other success and viability measurements.
- Develops detailed product plan to achieve long and short-term profit objectives.
- Provides input into rate, loss, budget, and other planning teams.
- Partners with MGAs to develop and enable creative product and coverage solutions for customer needs. Leads in the alignment of portfolio profitability and growth strategies such as target customers.
- Conducts exploration and analysis of key data to support on-going monitoring, maintenance, and underwriting of existing products.
- Drives carrier development of new products and supports Administrators in the launch of those offerings.
- Builds, and works with, structured information and data sets from multiple sources to develop analytical insights.
- Analyzes product and portfolio specific P&L performance, opportunities, new product performance metrics and initiative results.
- Partners with Actuarial and Underwriting to identify relevant portfolio views and profit opportunities, identify emerging themes, and internal and external trends to improve performance and minimize risk
- Builds reports using data tools to supervise business performance and communicate results.
- May manage staff of Product Analyst(s).
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience in insurance pricing, underwriting and/or product performance.
- Veterinary or Animal Health (dogs and cats) knowledge or experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data to drive informed product decisions.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and analysis for internal audiences
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel up to 10%
