Position:
Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Product Manager is responsible for leading a cross-functional team in pioneering the ideation, design, development, and delivery of new products and in generating a significant new revenue stream. The successful candidate will execute the product roadmap and exceed customer satisfaction in terms of product cost, quality, performance, and delivery using the requirements a company specific NPD system. Drive innovative and organic category growth through the implementation of the Integrated Product Team.
Responsibilities and Attributes:
Lead Product development from concept to commercialization in alignment with the overall mission of the business.
Manage and coordinate the design, development, and enhancement of new and existing products/product lines.
Lead the cross-functional Integrated Product Development Team following a stage gate process, ensuring that all stakeholders are on board and the project remains on track.
Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
Utilize the following metrics - Revenue growth; Customer satisfaction; Time to market; Departmental efficiency; Product quality; COPQ; Cost reduction.
Execute Design for Manufacturing methodology for customer-centric firearms.
Demonstrate budget management.
Ensure the team meets project milestones and completes projects within the established timeline.
Leverage technologies from other industries to reduce developmental resources and the time to market.
Enhance innovation, cast a wide net of ideas, and maximize external sources of innovation. Network (e.g., trade shows, user groups, and consumer insights). Utilize Data for decision making excellence.
Leadership skills – Adept at team building, provide growth and development opportunities, and lead in a manner that inspires others.
Provide adequate support, training, and development to team members to continuously improve Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering or other related technical field or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training.
5+ years of experience as Product Manager with a firearms manufacturer preferred.
Understanding of Six Sigma/DMADV techniques is preferred.
Deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
Strong knowledge of product category, industry trends, and best practices.
Thorough understanding of New Product Development stage gate system.
