Position OverviewThe Product Manager is responsible for analyzing customers' product needs and market trends. This position reviews new product ideas and strategizes appropriate go-to market plans. The Product Manager spends a moderate amount of time visiting job sites for product review, then defines product requirements and ensures they are met during design.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform product and market research and data analysisVisit job sites for product reviewReview competitor analysisTranslate product strategy into detailed requirements for developmentPrepare and initiate product launch plansCollaborate with Engineering, Production, Marketing and Sales TeamsDevelop product positioning strategiesDevelop sales forecast data for new productsInteract with customers to determine opportunitiesContribute to product training and presentationsMay attend tradeshows and technical conferences to promote productPromotes and enforces Product Management policies and proceduresPrompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.Interact and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.Communicate via email, prepare reports and work schedules.Review and analyze data and information concerning service work by department.Plan, prioritize and monitor product improvement activities.Complete projects in a timely manner.Supervisory ResponsibilityNo direct management or supervisory responsibilitiesSafetyObserve safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. Follow safe driving laws and job site specific safety requirements during customer visits.TravelApproximately 50-60% travel is required to gather product requirements from customers, visit job sites, commute between the Quaker campuses or for professional development.QualificationsAn individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Window and Door ExperienceProficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, OutlookProficient understanding of how a product is manufacturedBasic understanding of product terminologyMust maintain a valid driver's licenseKnowledge of Building & Energy Code requirements preferredPreferred Education and ExperienceThe expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.Bachelor's Degree in a business-related fieldPosition Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Physical DemandsThe demands and environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires the use of ambulatory functions including standing and bending. The employee may also occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. It is an essential job function and safety rule, applicable to every employee working in a safety sensitive classified position, to be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Work EnvironmentAlthough the employee primarily operates in an office environment, while performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to visit job sites, and be exposed to climactic variations, various levels of vibration, or moving mechanical parts.
