Job Description:

Position Overview

The Product Manager is responsible for analyzing customers' product needs and market trends. This position reviews new product ideas and strategizes appropriate go-to market plans. The Product Manager spends a moderate amount of time visiting job sites for product review, then defines product requirements and ensures they are met during design.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform product and market research and data analysis

* Visit job sites for product review

* Review competitor analysis

* Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for development

* Prepare and initiate product launch plans

* Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Marketing and Sales Teams

* Develop product positioning strategies

* Develop sales forecast data for new products

* Interact with customers to determine opportunities

* Contribute to product training and presentations

* May attend tradeshows and technical conferences to promote product

* Promotes and enforces Product Management policies and procedures

* Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.

* Interact and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.

* Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.

* Communicate via email, prepare reports and work schedules.

* Review and analyze data and information concerning service work by department.

* Plan, prioritize and monitor product improvement activities.

* Complete projects in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct management or supervisory responsibilities

Safety

Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. Follow safe driving laws and job site specific safety requirements during customer visits.

Travel

Approximately 50-60% travel is required to gather product requirements from customers, visit job sites, commute between the Quaker campuses or for professional development.

Qualifications

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* Window and Door Experience

* Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook

* Proficient understanding of how a product is manufactured

* Basic understanding of product terminology

* Must maintain a valid driver's license

* Knowledge of Building & Energy Code requirements preferred

Preferred Education and Experience

The expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.

* Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands

This is primarily an office position with moderate travel. The position requires the use of ambulatory functions including standing and bending. The employee may also occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Additionally, the position will occasionally require long periods of standing. Vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Visits to job sites are required. It is an essential job function and safety rule, applicable to every employee working in a safety sensitive classified position, to be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Work Environment

Although the employee primarily operates in an office environment, while performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to visit job sites, and be exposed to climactic variations, various levels of vibration, or moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low, but hearing protection may be advisable or required for prolonged job site visits.
