Job Summary

This role will join the Aspen Dental Product Management team. In this role you will have ownership for key functionality and components of our core patient management system platform, This platform is used by Aspen team members in our offices including clinical personnel (Doctors, Dental Assistants, Hygienists, etc.) and non-clinical personnel (Office Managers, Patient Support Reps., etc.). It is the backbone of our business from a systems perspective.

Core Competencies & Responsibilities

* Discovery oriented: You will proactively seek to know the pain points of your Users. You will be in the data for your product area and will have the skills to analyze databases and run SQL queries. You will dive deeply to understand the problem areas and proactively make improvements recommendations. You will know your product area and its Users front to back.

* Business-minded: You will frame your recommendations in the context of business value. You will construct basic models to illustrate soft benefits and hard financial benefits.

* High-Impact Communications: You will be a persuasive and passionate advocate for your product and its users. You will be skilled in authoring clear problem statements, high-level business requirements and have experience authoring user stories and can do so when needed.

* Agile-Minded: You will have enough user-empathy to work with UX on product designs and enough technical knowledge to work with Business Analysts and Developers in an iterative manner. You will be skilled at defining product MVPs and tenacious enough to continue iterating to get to the product vision.

* Cross-functional Influential Leadership: You will have the presence amongst people who do not report to you in to motivate and mobilize them into action, in support of our product.

* Stakeholder Management: You will have the interpersonal and negotiation skills needed to manage a wide variety of wants and needs from stakeholders to craft short-term plans and long-term roadmaps.

* Prioritization: You will drive rigorous prioritization for your product area and be able to get others aligned.

* Drive for Results: You will build products whose performance can be measured. Dashboards and reports will be part of your MVPs.

* Delivery oriented: Skilled in leveraging the Agile team in the Delivery phase. Strikes the needed balance in authoring Requirements that enables UX Designers, Business Analysts and Developers to do great work.

* Ethics and Values: Adheres to an appropriate and effective set of core values and beliefs during both good and bad times; acts in line with those values.

Requirements/Qualifications

* Minimum 5 years of product management experience. The preferred candidate will have a proven track record of helping healthcare organizations optimize and improve revenue cycle processes by not only implementing industry best practices, but also improving upon them.

* Experience in medical/healthcare working on devices and/or software highly desired.

* Demonstrated success in executing and directing product management activities in multiple areas.

* Ideal candidate also has the technical and operations acumen to understand the implications of data, back-end services and operations on the user experience and vice versa.

* Undergraduate degree in engineering, design, statistics, economics, or marketing; MBA, MIS, or MS desired.

* Clear passion about Aspen Dental's mission and ability to identify possibilities in our industry.

* Proven skills to collaborate with cross functional teams, and able to influence others to support decisions.

* Ability to be self-directed to solve business issues in defined product area, to make decisions about and prioritize own work.

* Entrepreneurial with a strong bias towards action.

* Creativity in managing culturally diverse customers, changing requirements, and shifting priorities.

* Passionate advocate for our customers and the user experience

* Ability to learn multiple functional areas of business, including engineering, design, finance, sales, operations, and marketing

* Drive to become the subject matter expert in your product area

* Ability to lead without authority, building credibility across the organization

* Ability to conduct own analyses and leverage qualitative and quantitative insights

* Communicates effectively and listens actively

Annual pay range: $130,000-$150,000
