We are hiring a Product and Privacy Counsel to help shape our approach to privacy and product compliance, advising the business as we launch new products and features, and expand our user base across the world. Reporting to our Global Privacy and Data Protection Counsel, you'll be the first hire on this growing part of our legal team. With that, you will have a significant impact on how Pendo's products work and grow, and have many opportunities to stretch and grow in your career here. ResponsibilitiesReview and advise Pendo's engineering and product teams on new products and features from early stages of development through launch by assessing legal risks while providing pragmatic legal advicePartner with engineering and product teams to identify the risks and rewards associated with new products and features, and strategiesSupport and maintain a privacy compliance program that scales to meet changing global regulations.Be one of Pendo's experts on issues related to privacy, product compliance, AI regulations, and more.Partner with the commercial legal team in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data privacy and other commercial agreements.Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for product and business teamsMinimum Qualifications:JD and member of the applicable state bar in good standing.At least 4+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience preferably in a B2B environment.Ability to internalize the business's priorities, think creatively, exercise judgment, and translate legal requirements into actionable (and flexible) adviceFamiliarity with global privacy lawsAbility to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectivelyA learning mindset and comfort operating in the grayPreferred Qualifications:Experience counseling technology product teams, especially those building B2B and artificial intelligence products and services. Experience counseling on global privacy compliance and emerging regulations and best practices in artificial intelligence.An ability to translate between business and technical risk and communicate clearly to business and technical constituencies.Expertise in managing defensive, proactive, and affirmative legal strategies in litigation and investigations.Roll-up your sleeves attitude to tackle projects large and small and a collaborative, low-ego approach to collaborating across the organization.Deep interest in machine learning technology and applications.Pendo Description:Pendo was founded in 2013 by former product managers, who combined their heads and hearts to build something they wanted but never had as product managers -- a simple way to understand and attack what truly drives product success.
