Provide leadership and technical expertise to identify, resolve and eliminate quality issues and problems within an assigned manufacturing departments.

The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking aProduct Quality Engineerto work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.

The key responsibilities of thisProduct Quality Engineerinclude, but are not limited to:

+ Work closely with design engineering and production to understand complex product builds and identify improvement opportunities

+ Perform thorough failure analysis utilizing schematics, PCB layouts and testing equipment

+ Monitor KPI's including yield, scrap and customer Defective Part Per Million (DPPM) and develop action based on leading indicators

+ Investigate customer returns and initiate rework when possible

+ When needed, discuss technical issues with customers and support on-site visits

+ Maintain working knowledge of manufacturing work instructions and implement improvements as needed

+ Maintain knowledge Amphenol's Quality Procedures Manual and enforce policies when needed

+ Develop and maintain constructive professional relationships with employees and customers

+ Work extensively with Amphenol's computer system, both the AS400 main frame and the local PC network. Utilize Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data3 software

+ Occasionally travel to customers to resolve, or explain prevention of, cited quality issues

Salary: $61,500 - $85,000

+ 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY

+ 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of aProduct Quality Engineerat Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

+ Four year engineering degree in engineering, knowledge of statistical methods, computer fluency, and interpersonal skills

+ Preferred course work or experience in electronic circuitry

+ Also preferred, some applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment

+ Demonstrate aptitude for problem solving, whether through professional experience, course work or extracurricular activities

+ Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data3 software.

+ Ability to freely travel throughout a manufacturing floor environment. Some lifting and carrying of small loads may be required. Be able to work in a fast paced environment.
