Job Description:

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India. Our Technology Solutions team is seeking a Product Specialist (Data Science) to join our team in support our global Media & Entertainment client's Data Mesh project. You'll have a background with cloud-data platforms and will be primarily focused on Snowflake & some AWS environments for validating multiple data requests that come through from the stakeholder teams. Your role will be to ensure that the data meets the requirements and we'll be supporting the Data Mesh product as a partner to validate accuracy, governance, and quality. You will have the ability to write a SQL query from scratch and will be able to understand the key stakeholder requirements from a Data Science perspective. Our clients are building advanced data science models and you'll be able to ensure that the data supplied will meet those needs and expectations. Your attention to detail will be paramount as you'll be the product face with a key system that drives valuable revenue through the company. A typical day for our Product Specialist involves engaging with the data science team and its leaders. We are tasked with supporting this team to create data science models driving audience engagement, and supporting campaigns that measure the ROI on key financial matters. The Product team is essential in monitoring progress and collaborating between engineering and various teams within the data science group. We are looking for a highly organized Product Specialist who can be proactive and anticipate the next steps for all ongoing projects and tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, enabling them to present information to leadership clearly and concisely. They should leverage their critical thinking abilities to ask insightful questions when collaborating with subject matter experts from various functional areas and be able to work independently. Our selected consultant will work mostly remote, but must be able to come into the New York (Manhattan) office as needed (once a quarter) for key meetings. The work hours must be done on EST hours (required). Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand their new and ongoing projects, identify bottlenecks, and address pain points.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to fulfill assigned tasks.
  • Perform data requests and validate data requirements as required to fulfill stakeholder needs.
  • Write basic SQL queries to validate data within tables, APIs or datasets.
  • Support the business with obtaining the proper data following appropriate requirements and permissions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding scope and delivery timelines.
  • Keep JIRA updated for all open tickets assigned to our team, ensuring each ticket is properly documented and communicated.
  • Provide weekly status updates for all open items in the internal team forum and with the data science partners.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in program, project, or product management, preferably supporting data science teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience working with multiple stakeholders and prioritizing their competing business needs.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Capable of writing basic SQL queries
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and proficiency in using project management tools like JIRA.
  • Strong attention to detail in drafting thorough documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with consumer data and collaborating with privacy and governance teams for compliance (preferred)

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $40 - $50/per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
