Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products.
We are currently looking for a passionate Innovation & Development Assistant to join our growing product development team on site in Hicksville, NY!
This exciting role will report directly to the Director of Product Development, concentrating on the ideation and creation of souvenir, food, and promotional products.
Responsibilities:
- Work throughout the product development process from initial concept through production
- Follow up with internal teams to ensure changes are communicated
- Coordinate with quality control to obtain all required documents and test reports for each vendor and product.
- Handle the creation of all Tech Packs
- Track samples
- Maintain WIP reports and T&A calendars
- Ensure data and all records are maintained
- Communicate with overseas factories and mills
- Coordinate with production on all shipments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Product or Packaging design, Merchandising, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design software.
- Strong understanding of trends, techniques, and processes in product manufacturing to decoration: glazes, dyes, screen printing, pad printing, etching, decals, and embroidery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Product development experience in soft and hard goods categories
- Sales and marketing experience preferred
- Ability to conceptualize new designs from scratch and provide clear and detailed design articulation
- Extremely organized and experienced in tracking many projects throughout the product development process
- Highly collaborative and detailed; ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Critical thinking skills that are evidenced in good decision-making, project ownership, and a global perspective
- Solutions oriented attitude
- Passionate about design and product
